Become a mentor for an afternoon by volunteering in Step Up's after-school programs at Johnson College Prep!

mentorship

Your role as a mentor is to engage the girls in class activities and share your own experience. Your story of challenge and success makes a big impact!

Volunteer expectations:
  • the desire to make a positive impact on the lives of young women
  • a fun, flexible and energetic attitude
  • your commitment to attend the class session once you register (register for as many or as few as you'd like!)

  • JCP dress code:
The expectation for adults at JCP is professional dress, described as "a dress or collared shirt or blouse, pressed pants or skirts that are not too tight or too lose, dress shoes (not sandals or gym shoes)."

    Additional attire regulations include:
  • no head coverings or hats (excludes those worn for religious purposes) or distracting bows or headbands
  • no denim of any kind
  • only one earring in each ear no larger than a quarter
  • only one wrist item on each wrist
  • only one ring on each hand no larger than a quarter
  • visible tattoos must be covered
  • visible facial piercings must be removed - they cannot simply be covered

  • About Step Up Teen Programs
