    About the Commitment to Philanthropy Awards
     This year marks the fifth annual Commitment to Philanthropy Awards presented at Stepping Up in the City, our annual membership celebration. This award recognizes select women who emulate the Step Up spirit through notable contributions of her time, talent and treasure. Key selection criteria include demonstrated leadership, impact and scope of role, overall time investment, and passion for Step Up's mission.

    About Jess:
    Jess Weiner is this generation’s “Go-to Girl” for self-esteem! For over 15 years, she has been a leader and pioneer within the confidence community. Whether she is hosting a seminar for mothers and daughters on today’s pressure to be beautiful, writing her monthly columns for Seventeen Magazine and MSN.com, or speaking out on programs like Oprah, CNN, or The Today Show, Jess motivates women and girls around the globe to develop the tools for living a more confident life!

    Jess is the Chief Creative Officer for Talk to Jess, LLC (TTJ), a multi-platform company creating media programs that focus on storytelling for social change and the Founder of the Actionist® Network. In addition, Jess serves as the Global Ambassador for the Dove Self-Esteem Fund, and plays a vital role in their global campaigns throughout North America and Canada. She is the author of two books, “A Very Hungry Girl”,= and “Life Doesn’t Begin 5 Pounds From Now”, She is currently working on her third book aimed at helping mothers raise truly confident girls. Jess was also recently named by Forbes.com one of the 14 Power Women to Follow on Twitter!   

    But out of all the accomplishments listed, Jess will tell you that she is most proud of her role as a loving daughter, over-protective big sister, loyal best friend, and authentic role model.
