Volunteer with Step Up’s innovative photojournalism program “I Dream To…” TODAY!

I Dream To is an innovative after-school program that empowers teen girls living in underserved communities to discover and explore various career opportunities while building self-esteem and leadership skills. Through weekly classes and with support of a program instructor and Step Up member volunteers, girls learn photography, journalism, and critical thinking skills and are inspired to dream big. Ultimately, Step Up connects each girl with a professional woman in the career of the girl’s choice to learn directly from the woman living the teen’s dream, and to realize the possibility of achieving it herself.

 

Volunteer Expectations:

• A desire to make a positive impact on the lives of a group of young women
• A fun, flexible and energetic attitude
• A commitment to attend at least two classes is suggested to get the most out of your volunteer experience
• Specialized knowledge and experience in photography and/or journalism is welcomed, but NOT at all required

About Step Up Teen Programs
The mission of Step Up Teen Programs is to mentor, inspire and empower high school girls in underserved communities to achieve their dreams and reach their full potential. We do this through innovative after-school and Saturday enrichment programming that helps girls develop into the "total woman" - one who is confident, college-bound and career-ready. 

Our innovative programming includes: drama, photojournalism filmmaking, media awareness, poetry/spoken word, college prep, SAT prep, one-on-one mentoring, paid summer internships, and field trips to our members' offices.
