This program is about using our girls' real life experiences and adventures to help the girls find their way into becoming more focused, passionate, and excited about what they LOVE to do (and be) in the world!
Classes are held at Environmental Science and Technology High School 2930 Fletcher Dr., Los Angeles, Ca 90065.If you have trouble finding us, look for anyone in an orange tee shirt or contact by phone (312.259.6451) for more information. Parking is available in the surrounding streets.
We would like to have the volunteer(s) to arrive at 3:15pm to assist in class preparation and for a quick brief of the upcoming class. Classes will run from 3:30pm-5:00pm every Thursday. If you are available to stay after class to help put supplies away, we can use your help then too!
If you already have a Step Up tee, please wear it. Casual clothing is fine as well.
Volunteer Roles:
-During the opening class, we would like volunteers to introduce themselves and their profession.
-Girls are broken up into groups to work on project based activities. Volunteers are asked to participate in each class by floating from group to group and providing positive encouragement.
-We encourage you to mingle with the young women, ask them questions and begin rapport with them.
(Warning: they are teenagers so if they are more interested in talking with their friends, do not take it personally!)
