PROGRAM INFORMATION
Step Up's Professional Mentorship Program rewards members who have devoted their time, resources and talents to helping women and girls in our community, pairing them with a senior-level professional for a six-month mentorship period focused on advancing the mentee's career goals. Mentors and mentees communicate at least once each month, typically for an hour, in-person or over the phone.
Mentors are pre-selected from our Board of Directors, Luminary Circle donors, professional development speakers, and other senior-level women supporters in the New York community. Participating mentors will be announced before the required goal-setting workshop for mentee applicants.
Mentee Applicant Requirements:
- Be an active Step Up member at the Influencer level ($125) or above
- Hold clear objectives for the program which you can articulate orally and in writing
- Attend one of Step Up's Goal Setting Workshops on March 29
- Submit your completed application by April 15
- Participate in an in-person interview April 25
- Attend Step Up’s program kick-off breakfast on Tuesday, May 10 from 8-10am
- Attend Step Up's program wrap-up breakfast on Thursday, November 10 from 8-10am
Note: All Influencer members are qualified to apply for the program, but space is limited so not guaranteed. Selected applicants will be admitted based on their goals, mentoring needs, and involvement in Step Up.
Program Timeline
March 29 - 2 Timeslots: 6-7:45 pm and 7:45-9:30 pm
Step Up's 2011 Mentorship Orientation & Goal-Setting Workshop offers interactive guidance about crafting your goals and filling out your mentorship program application. To qualify to apply to Step Up's Professional Mentorship Program, you must attend one of these workshops. You can register on Step Up's online calendar for your preferred time on March 29.
