Los Angeles
Sofia Lilly is the director of Young Adult Programs, Step Up’s mentorship program that supports young women and gender-expansive young adults ages 18-23 in becoming the next generation of leaders.
Sofia started at Step Up in 2016 as a confidence instructor for Step Up ninth grade girls. She then followed her cohort of teens to 10th grade, then 11th, and became their 12th grade facilitator before stepping into the teen programs manager role. As teen programs manager in Los Angeles, Sofia Lilly oversaw all programs and services related to Step Up's teens, including after-school programming at eight high school partner sites, mentorship conference planning and content creation, and coaching and developing the team of teen programs facilitators and mentors.
Sofia studied social work at the University of Montana, where she became a Big Sister with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. It was through this experience that Sofia realized the impact positive role models can have on teen girls, and became passionate about mentoring them to fulfill their potential. She next will study applied positive psychology and psychology of coaching through the University of East London's distance learning program.
When not at Step Up, Sofia can be found hiking with her dog, Molly, playing fetch with her cat, Cookie, or enjoying time with her family.
