Step Up is a mentorship nonprofit providing the structure for girls (and those who identify with girlhood) to define their ideal destination and get there – wherever that destination may be.
Step Up meets girls, young adults, and professional mentors exactly where they are, offering structured support to design and navigate unique paths to success.
Ages 14-18
Free mentorship for high school girls, on your campus and out in the world. Meet women doing the work you're curious about and figure out what success looks like on your terms.
Ages 18-29
The stretch between school and a career you actually want is the hard part. Get matched with mentors through the Step Up app and work through it alongside people who've done it.
Ages 30+
You don't need mentoring experience. Come open and positive, share how you got where you are, and help a girl plan her next step.
Mentoring App Session: Your People, Your Power
Community Circle: Your People, Your Power is a welcoming space to connect with peers navigating similar career and life experiences. Each session centers around a meaningful conversation designed to encourage reflection, honest discussion, and mutual support in a judgment-free environment.
Whether you're celebrating a win, working through a challenge, or simply looking to connect with others who understand your journey, you'll leave feeling more supported, encouraged, and inspired.
This event is open to young adults (ages 18-29) who identify with womanhood.
Board Interest Session
We are hosting a virtual info session for prospective board members (regional and national) who want to learn about our mission, governance structure and board responsibilities. You will have the chance to meet current board members, ask questions, and explore how your skills, passion and expertise can help advance Step Up's mission and goals.
We welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences who are committed to strengthening our community and supporting our vision.
Power Talks: Squad Goals
Calling all Nashville mentors! Join Vanderbilt University Women in Business and Margaret Cuninggim Women's Center for Power Talks: Squad Goals – a workshop designed to help you build relationships that matter. This session will dive into purposeful networking, key differences between mentors and sponsors, and the power of reciprocal relationships in creating lasting opportunities.
This session is open to Nashville mentors (ages 30+) who identify with womanhood.
Virtual Mentor Training
In this 60-minute lunch-and-learn-style virtual training, mentors will dive into Step Up’s mentorship principles and best practices when engaging with mentees and explore their personal and professional commitments to empowering the next generation of leaders.
This session is open to new and longtime Step Up mentors (ages 30+) who identify with womanhood.
Through Step Up, girls experience more than just mentorship. They'll find community, feel empowered to expand their horizons, and develop the skills they need to navigate life’s path with confidence.
