Director, Events and Experiences

Amanda Flores is the director of events and experiences for Step Up. In this role, Amanda serves as the lead event designer and producer, creating events that inspire women to inspire girls and raise funds to support Step Up's mission. Amanda began her work with Step Up as the executive assistant in the national office, assisting the CEO and working on various marketing and public relations efforts for the nonprofit, including executing Step Up's e-communications and social strategy.
Amanda graduated cum laude from Loyola Marymount University with a bachelor's degree in communication studies. While on campus, she served as the social justice assistant in the office of Campus Ministry, sparking her passion for service and love of social justice. She also developed leadership skills through involvement with organizations including Delta Zeta Sorority, Christian Life Communities, LMU Choir, Order of Omega Greek Honor Society and Fraternal Values Society.
Inspired by Step Up, Amanda attended graduate school while working at Step Up and earned a masters in communication management at USC's Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. When she's not working at Step Up, Amanda is working part-time as the wedding coordinator at the USC Caruso Catholic Center and Our Savior Parish. In this role, she helps couples plan their wedding ceremony at Our Savior Parish and coordinates day of details.
Amanda spends the remainder of her time with her husband, Daniel, and their two dogs, Snoopy and Woody.

What has your mentor taught you?
Alissa has shaped me in so many ways. As Step Up, I've had the opportunity to work with her in different capacities. I've learned so much from her - how to be a good leader, the importance of branding and messaging, how to speak about Step Up and our mission, and just so much more. She's an incredible role model and mentor, and someone I admire her for her hard work and heart.
What do you enjoy most about working at Step Up?
I enjoy working at Step Up because of the incredible community. My co-workers are amazing women that inspire me, and motivate me to be better. The connections and friendships I've made within our network are so meaningful and important to me.
