Step Up has influenced the resilient and confident woman I am today. This influence has prositivley impacted my family and community. Giving back to Step Up is a goal of mine and AmeriCorps VISTA has helped me do that. I am not only helping Step Up, I am helping girls and young woman in communities similar to the ones I was raised in.
AmeriCorps VISTA is the national service program that is dedicated to eliminate poverty. This program is made up of amazing people who stand up and show up in their communities and for their neighbors.
Together, they respond to disasters, support COVID-relief efforts, serve as mentors, help conserve the environment, and so much more. AmeriCorps VISTA began in 1965 California.
“Since 1965, over 220,000 AmeriCorps members in the VISTA program have joined the fight against poverty by helping local organizations expand their capacity to make change. The VISTA program serves in each of the 50 U.S. states and in all U.S. territories.” – Americorps.gov Every second week of March is dedicated to thank AmeriCorps members and volunteers.
