Dimitra Nikolopoulou
Dimitra Nikolopoulou studied Geology at Athens University and Film at Paris III University. She works as a first assistant director on films, advertisements and television series. Running Dry is her fourth short film.
AboutRunning Dry – With no job and the power cut off at home, Athina takes her last 64 Euros and heads to the electricity company, hoping to make some sort of settlement. On the way, she meets an unemployed dad and his hungry child, a woman searching through garbage cans for food, and an elderly gentleman who can’t afford his medications. This is a journey into a contemporary Athens rocked by recent economic crises, with an expected ending.
