If you left money on the table you would want someone to tell you right? That’s what Step Up membership managers are doing the entire month of June - reminding donors like you to take advantage of your company’s matching gift program. Many companies match employee contributions 1:1 which means if you donate to Step Up, your company will match the same amount dollar for dollar. $500 becomes $1,000 and $1,000 becomes $2,000. Quite simply, doubling the money means we can do twice as much in our work to serve teen girls in under-resourced communities. Some companies, like Johnson & Johnson even match 2:1 which means for every dollar you give, it will give two. Talk about making an impact in the lives of teen girls! I like to think of it as free money that’s waiting to be allocated.
Step Up has members who doubled their donations from companies like CNN, LinkedIn, Yahoo!, American Express, Goldman Sachs and more! If your company matches or if you know of a company that matches, please type in the company name on our Facebook page here. Many employees either forget to submit a matching gift request or they don’t know if their company matches. Step Up wants to change that.
