When I first started working at Step Up in January, I asked our Los Angeles managing director, Jamie, for a list of Step Up’s most faithful supporters. I wanted to find out what it was that kept them coming back year after year, and what I discovered can be summed up in a quote from one of those exceptional women, Barbara Allen-Watkins, who said, “My job pays my bills, but Step Up feeds my soul.”
Giving back feels good, and, as professional women, the opportunity to give back to the next generation of female CEOs, directors and doctors feels even better! You are the driving force behind the 100% graduation and college-acceptance rate for our teens. And it’s your support as mentors and donors that makes it possible for us to execute impactful after-school programs that help girls graduate confident, college-bound and career-focused.
But, did you know that you can make an even greater impact with the help of your employer? Not only will they “pay your bills,” they’ll also match your donations! Most companies offer matching gift programs, which will double your membership donation and, in doing so, double the impact you make on Step Up teens' lives. Applying for a corporate match is a simple way for your employer to give back to a cause you believe in, as well as grow Step Up’s ability to reach more girls!
If your company matches or if you know of a company that matches, please type in the company name on our Facebook page here.
If you have questions about the donation matching process, please feel free to reach out to your Step Up member programs manager:
