The seasons are changing and the school year is moving along-- now is the time to check-in with yourself and your mental health wellness! As educators you are always on, working hard for your students, schools, and programs. We invite you to take some time for yourself this week, and check-in with yourself. Here is a simple assessment you can do to fall into your mental health:
Start with sleep: how many hours are you getting a night? Does this align with the time you want to be sleeping? Make a sleep chart or get yourself into bed at a time that makes you feel rested.
Next is nutrition: Are you eating what makes you feel good? Has eating enough to sustain you and drinking enough water remained consistent throughout the semester? Treat yourself to a little something that you do not always have.
Back to basics: Are you doing things for YOU? Enjoy your evening or weekend without the worry of work, read that book, or just a chapter. Write down what makes you you, and set a time to do that activity.
Your impact and work are valued, but so is your rest and peace of mind. Don’t forget to fall into your mental health this week and take that time and grace for yourself.
