Staying Positive This Holiday Season

Staying Positive This Holiday Season
Written by Tracey Wilkins from Step Up

The holidays might look a little different this year, but that doesn't mean it has to be any less fun! We want to make sure everyone stays safe and healthy this holiday season, so we have a few ideas that can help put everyone in that special mood responsibly. Here are five ways to stay positive and festive this holiday season.

1. Celebrate this holiday season by decorating your living space or wherever you spend the most time in. Let's face it home is where the heart is, so what better way to warm your heart than by creating some holiday cheer.

2. Practice your baking skills this holiday season. Have you always wanted to make a fruit cake that you're sure your family will love? Well, now's your chance to spend some extra time in the kitchen to maybe make some gingerbread cookies, sweet potato pie, and who can forget eggnog. Now's the time to bring out your inner chef the way you always wanted to. Go ahead, give everyone the gift of baking.

3. Who said cleaning was only for the springtime? Clean your closet this holiday and donate some old clothes to those in need this holiday. We know Santa may bring a few less gifts than he normally would this year, but that doesn't mean we can't pitch in by being a helper. So maybe that cool t-shirt you only wore one time can really make someone's holiday even more special.

4. The movie theaters might be closed, but that doesn't mean you can't catch up on some of those old favorite movies. Netflix anyone?!

5. The best way to ensure safety this holiday season to remain socially distant. Yes, the holidays are about coming together and appreciating those around you, but this year the best way to say I love you is to be safe. We may want to consider seeing our friends and family this year via a screen. Video chat with loved ones and friends for a nice get-together that everyone will enjoy.
