Step Up to Honor MediaLink’s Wenda Harris Millard at Fifth Annual Power Hour Presented by Coach, Inc.
Annual mentorship fundraiser set for October 26 at Hearst Tower

NEW YORK - October 11, 2016 - Mentorship organization Step Up will gather some of New York's sharpest business minds at the nonprofit's fifth annual Power Hour, presented by Coach, Inc. on Wednesday, October 26, at 6:30 p.m. at Hearst Tower's 44th Floor in partnership with Marie Claire. The event celebrates the impact of mentorship, bringing together influential names for the evening, while raising funds for Step Up's after-school and weekend mentorship programs for teen girls from under-resourced communities.

The event will fête Mentorship Champion Wenda Harris Millard, president and COO of MediaLink, and Nowrin Ahmed, who participates in Step Up's after-school programs as a senior at The Young Women's Leadership School of Astoria.

Stacy London, television host and style expert, returns as emcee for the evening. London, an avid Step Up supporter, served on the organization's national board of directors and was the 2013 recipient of the event's Mentorship Champion distinction.

"Power Hour connects inspiring thought leaders committed to impacting the next generation with our network of ambitious teen girls," Step Up CEO Jenni Luke said. "We look forward to once again bringing influential names together in the name of mentorship, and recognizing Wenda and Nowrin for all they do to inspire mentorship in their communities."

Coach will serve as the event's presenting sponsor and will be represented by Chief Executive Officer Victor Luis. The event also has the support of gold sponsors MediaLink and AOL, along with media partner Marie Claire and presenter Shelley Zalis, founder of The Girls' Lounge. Grey Group's Susan Aminoff, a member of Step Up's New York chapter board of directors, serves as the event chair.

Sponsorships begin at $3,500 and are available at suwn.org/ph or by calling 646.833.3021.
