Step Up Class of 2016
I never truly realized how impactful role models could be until I began seeing the women at Step Up as role models. They are inspirational examples of women that I one day would want to be. I want to make an impact in a similar way because everyone should be able to know that you can do great things no matter what your circumstance may be.
I want break many glass ceilings and show that with the determination and the patience to move up higher, you can do anything no matter what it is you are doing. There's always going to be roadblocks along the way, but you just have to be persistent, confident and believe in yourself and the beauty of your dreams.
I have been lucky to be surrounded by very successful women for four years and I've learned so much. I think this is more valuable though, when you are able to share experiences and give back too. I just hope that one day a girl can think about me as a mentor who impacted their life like mine. Amy Tierney/Thrive Images
