Walking into Héritage Fine Wines you could hear the bustling sound of women (a total of 75!) chatting and the aroma of warm pastries and hot coffee. Logan Browning from Netflix's "Dear White People" was among the group of talented women. Before the program began, you knew it was going to be a morning well spent. Women from a myriad of industries—financial, entertainment, legal, fashion—showed up to hear Suzanne Lerner, president, Michael Stars + owner, Lerner Et Cie open up about her journey of fashion and philanthropy. The discussion was moderated by Blair Cobb, founder, BWC Consulting.
The Power Breakfast was initiated with a nice speech from Kimberly Nolasco, Step Up alumna and rising senior at Pacific Lutheran University, who reflected on her experience as a Step Up teen. Click here to watch Kimberly speak.

"Without this organization [Step Up], it would be hard to see where I could go. I didn't think doors could open for me." –Kimberly Nolasco
Blair asked Suzanne a number of questions, including what her journey was like in becoming president of Michael Stars, how the brand stands the "test of time," and how to remain relevant in the market. Suzanne's response to staying relevant and overcoming the test of time..."Stay young and keep reinventing yourself." Moreover, Suzanne's tips included creating a workplace that's enjoyable. She views everyone on staff at Michael Stars as her family. Click here to watch Suzanne speak.
Before the closing of the program, Suzanne had a piece of advice for Step Up teens, "Stick to what your heart says."
Thank you to everyone who attended our Power Breakfast and to our media partner, Angeleno and Héritage Fine Wines for all your support. View photos from the morning on Step Up's Facebook page.
