--DIGITAL TOOL CONNECTS STEP UP TEENS AND YOUNG ADULTS WITH VETTED ORGANIZATIONS PROVIDING SUPPORT OUTSIDE STEP UP’S PROGRAM AREAS--

LOS ANGELES (Tuesday, December 9, 2025) – During a year that has seen teens and young adults face new systemic challenges, mentorship nonprofit Step Up today launches its Resource Hub, a digital tool designed to connect mentees with trusted, vetted organizations that offer additional areas of support. For more than 25 years, Step Up has been a trusted source for mentorship, career exploration and confidence-building programs for teen girls and those who identify with girlhood. Recognizing that today’s teens and young adults are facing challenges beyond the scope of the organization’s core programming, Step Up created the new Resource Hub – a digital connection to services and local organizations that serve as a supplement to Step Up’s support.

This year brought new challenges for Step Up mentees, and the organization identified that additional support was needed in areas like mental health, housing, legal help, immigration services and more. The new Resource Hub can connect Step Up’s teens and young adults to local, trusted organizations specializing in providing support in these areas and more. Step Up campus leaders and mentors will be trained on how to access, navigate, and share the Resource Hub effectively, ensuring that no matter the need, girls can turn to Step Up. The Resource Hub can be accessed from the Step Up website, under the “Get Involved” tab in the navigation menu or directly via the URL https://www.suwn.org/resource-hub/.

The Resource Hub is one example of the several ways Step Up met the moment during a challenging economic and political climate. Despite challenges, the organization remained unwavering in its mission to help girls define and pursue their visions of success. The nonprofit identified two priorities that guided action throughout the year: engaging a tailored and diverse mentorship community and creating more opportunities to be together in community.

These priorities translated into targeted program enhancements across Step Up – strengthening the way the organization shows up for those they serve. Updates were made to both the teen and young adult curriculums and a new mentor training program was developed. Step Up also introduced an Ally Symbol – a sticker that signals to Step Up mentees that mentor wearing the symbol is a safe space for teens to show up authentically. The Ally Symbol will begin rolling out in Step Up’s campus-based programming this spring.

As young people faced shifting challenges this year, the support of the Step Up community enabled the organization to adapt with intention and impact. Between now and year end, Step Up is sharing the progress the support has enabled and how the community’s commitment helps sustain these critical resources in the year ahead. The organization aims to raise $120,000 by the end of the year to continue to reach young people with these evolving tools and resources.
